A. Fuente Short Story, Sam Adams White Ale, and JLP Cremas
The other day my friend and I were able to check out a local bar, J. Gilberts, that lets you smoke cigars at the bar. Upon sitting at the bar, I immediately ordered a Sam Adams Seasonal White Ale. A BEAUTIFUL drink if I must say. A very crisp tasting beer, not too heavy, but had some great citrus flavors to it. Along with it, I lit my first cigar, an A. Fuente Shorty Story. This was a little guy that I've heard a lot about. I didn't cut the foot and just lit the end as it was. The cigar was a really nice short smoke. Produced lots of smoke, had a good burn with no major wrapper problems. The flavor was really nice and was complemented very well by the White Ale. It is a good cigar but the price at most B&Ms would keep me from buying again. If anything I'd look to buy a box but because of limited supply, the prices are way jacked up even for a box. If you can get your hand on one for a good price I'd say go for it. Next I lit a JLP crema and ordered a Guinness with it. I've had a JLP last year from a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. This was no exception. Had the beautiful smoothness that can only come with a CC. Even for a "budget" cigar, its a great cigar and will keep me coming back for its flavor and price. The pre-light draw was a little tight but loosend up as I smoked on. There were no burn issues and kept up a great flavor all the way until the end. Overall it was a great day and as the weather warms up hopeuflly there will be more to come. Until next time.
