You mean Jimmy Hendrix?

As some of my friends may know (probably not that many people now that I think about) I really like my Gin and Tonics. At first I really enjoyed the sweetness of the tonic and liked my gin and tonics with a little more tonic that was probably right. But as I drank more, I started to really enjoy the unique flavor of the gin. The sharpness of the alcohol was replaced with flavor that was like no other liquor. The first taste that came to me was a taste of cucumber and an array of herbs. By no means do I claim to be a connosisour of gin but I do like it. My normal staples of gin consisted of either Tanqueray or Bombay. A good friend of mine recommended that I try a gin called Hendricks. Its a quiet yet retro looking bottle with a simple name and a simple looking design. I read a little blurb that Wine Enthusiast that called Hendricks the most "flavorful" gin. They were right, even with the tonic I could clearly taste some of the gin flavors. Making this one a simple reviews. Hendricks is a good good good good gin, go drink some.

That doesn't sound right

Well the other day I tried something that was SURPRISINGLY good. My friend recommended that I try a Guinness with vanilla ice cream, kind of like a coke float but with Guinness instead of coke. I was skeptical at first but was surprised that it actually works. If you think about it, it should work. Guinness if often described as having chocolate or coffee/mocha flavors to it. Both those tastes go hand in hand with vanilla ice cream. So I poured the Guinness and scooped in to hefty servings of breyers vanilla ice cream, the best ice cream in my opinion. I took a sip of the Guinness and instead of the typical chocolate and coffee flavors, which were still present, there we a very dominant creamy vanilla flavor that melded well with the other flavors of the beer. It reminded me of a very dark espresso with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There was a little alcohol bite to it that reminded me it was a alcoholic drink which I appreciated. All in all, a great new drink for me and I think I will have to put it into my regular rotation of alcoholic drinks and sweet desserts.

Been awhile.

Sorry to those that read my blog. I have smoked a good deal since I started this but haven't bothered keeping up. I've also drank alot since then as well. Major purchases since then include A 50 bundle of Los Statos, a box of Monte 2s '07, a box of La Gloria Cubana Medaille D'Or No.4 '02, and a fairly old sampler from a guy on the forums. Well I will try to keep you updated more often. Sorry for the delay and until then stay classy my fellow readers.
